Joseph has never liked the idea of going off the diving board. He has refused to his entire life. Out of respect for him, we have tried to persuade him without pushing him (well, that means every possible effort of persuasion known to Mom has been tried.) This summer, Joseph decided he could and would jump off the diving board and he did! Watching him display courage, knowing he really didn't want to, and then realizing he could do it easily was really fun. Joseph did it three times in a row and then was out there cheering on the little kids who were nervous or scared like him saying, "It's so fine, you'll love it." So fine indeed.
