On Friday Monring, November 14, my Mom had a massive heart attack. Now just over a week later, (it seems like months) she is in the rehab hospital and on the mend. We have prayed, cried, and waited and my sisters, Father and I are quite shaken, quite grieved, and now relieved. My Mom is blessed to have made it through emergency double bypass, and the usual complications thereafter. She has limited lung capacity which made all of this harder. Every day we watch and wait to see how she is, and she is improving. My Dad is amazing! He has been handed this cross when barely recovered from two surgeries for cancer (which he is clear of at this time, thank God). I watched him leaning on God for his strength, and his integrity and trust are an inspiration to me. I had to return home to my boys after a week in Spokane with my Annelise, and leave my parents in my sister's care. It's hard to want to be in two places at the same time. It wounds the heart/soul to watch those whom you love suffer, and after this difficult week, many many times I have just wanted to cry. We are so thankful God has carried us with His love through something so hard. He has brought us joy and hope, and now healing. So I am snuggling my children, and focusing on everything I know and believe, that our good Lord loves us in the midst of sorrow, and He will bind up our wounds. I was meditating on the beautiful beatitudes, we are so grateful our Lord comforts us especially in the difficult times in the journey of life.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven."
