While in Washington we stayed a couple days with dear friends who very graciously hosted us. It was a gift to see them and catch up with their children who have grown so fast. They are blessed to have a beautiful home and property and we found it was the peak of colors for the autumn season. Having time to "be" instead of doing for a day or so, allowed us to drank in the beauty and pause. A few times a year this happens, where it is so beautiful, and life seems so very good, that one wants time to stop, or at least slow. I couldn't help but grab the camera and try to capture it in my feeble attempt to hold onto the season, the time, and the moment. This beauty helps me to get through the cold, gray, barren days of winter. This time was truly a gift for us. Good friends are pure gift, one we don't take for granted. If we would have stayed longer it would have been hard to return home.
